The CPFI is recognised by the Government of India Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. It enjoys affiliation with the Indian Olympic Association and is a member of the Asian Cycle Polo Federation as well as of the International Bicycle Polo Association.
The affairs of the CPFI are managed by a duly elected Executive Committee for a term of 4 years. A Technical Committee overlooks all aspects of championships and is responsible to conduct National championships every year of boys and girls separately in the under mentioned categories :
